The official language is Japanese and the population is around 126 million. The economy is highly advanced and based on exports of technology, automobiles, and consumer goods. Japan is known for its unique culture, including traditional arts such as calligraphy, tea ceremony and flower arrangement, and martial arts such as karate and judo. The country is also known for its food, such as sushi, ramen, and tempura, and its popular anime and manga entertainment. Japan is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government.
